As part of a year-long partnership with the Brea Olinda School District, sixth graders from Laurel Elementary Magnet School of Innovation & Career Exploration were invited to a special educational event hosted by ViewSonic.
Laurel Magnet School students received a warm welcome by the ViewSonic Finch mascots where students had the opportunity to take selfies with the birds. The students then received a special behind-the-scenes tour of the ViewSonic offices which included the Visual Experience Center. During the tour, students were able to get their hands on the latest innovations in display technologies found on campuses and classrooms across the country.
Following the Visual Experience Center tour, students spent time with various ViewSonic managers to learn about careers in marketing. From product development to advertising, channel marketing, graphic design and social media – students learned from these experts about their jobs, experiences and day-to-day responsibilities.
“Being headquartered in Brea, we jumped at the chance to work with the local school district to share our knowledge and experience with their students.” said Sarah Kearns, Commercial Marketing Director at ViewSonic. “We provide schools with the technology, tools and training they need to achieve 21st century learning. At ViewSonic we support educators and learners beyond product purchase with PD and training to ensure that teachers and students get the most from their technology, so when we were given the opportunity to share with students what those 21st century jobs might look like; this felt like the perfect opportunity.”
