What are ViewSonic CDE commercial displays?

The CDE Series is a family of professional displays built for business and education. They are perfect for conference rooms, lobbies, classrooms, and digital signage. These displays are designed to work long hours, are easy to manage remotely, and offer simple wireless casting.

Why should I choose a commercial display over a regular TV?

Commercial displays are built to last for years in professional settings. Regular TVs are only designed to run for a few hours a day and often burn out quickly in business environments. TYPES OF CDE DISPLAYS

What are the different types of ViewSonic commercial displays?

We offer a few different options depending on what you need.

  • CDE31 Series: These have a built-in Android operating system. They are great if you want to run apps, cast your screen wirelessly, and manage the display remotely without needing an extra computer.
  • CDEG3 Series: These are “OS-free” displays. They are designed for high security and quick startups. You just plug in your device and go
  • Ultrawide Displays: Most of our screens are the standard 16:9 shape, but we also offer 21:9 ultrawide options with 5K resolution for a more immersive experience.
  • CDE12 Series: These deliver simple content sharing and high-impact messaging at a great value.

What sizes are available?

We have a size for every room. Our screens range from 43”, 50”, 55”, 65”, 75”, 86” and 98”, depending on the series.
We also offer massive 92-inch and 105-inch screens for ultrawide viewing and 110-inch screen for big visual impact.

What does 24/7 and 16/7 operation mean?

This tells you how long the display can run reliably each day.

  • 24/7 displays are heavy-duty and designed to run all day and night without a break.
  • 16/7 displays are a cost-effective option for businesses that are open for standard hours. They offer great reliability but at a lower price point since they do not need to be on all the time.

INSTALLATION & CONNECTIVITY

What connectivity options are available?

Most CDE models come with HDMI, USB-C, USB-A, and LAN ports. The USB-C port is especially handy because it can carry video, data, and power over a single cable.

Is Wi-Fi built in?

Wi-Fi is not built directly inside the screen, which gives you more security control. However, you can easily add Wi-Fi by purchasing our optional wireless module accessory.

Can I mount these displays vertically?

Yes. Many of our CDE models can be mounted in portrait mode (vertically) or landscape mode (horizontally).

This gives you total flexibility for your digital signage.

Do the displays have speakers?

Yes. All CDE displays come with built-in speakers, so you have clear audio for your meetings and videos right out of the box.

Do CDEs support OPS?

Yes, select CDEs support an 80pin OPS. ViewSonic VPCs are sold separately.

Are these displays compatible with media players and external signage solutions?

Absolutely. You can connect any third-party media player, such as a Chromebox or BrightSign player, using the HDMI or USB-C ports.

Can I use a standard wall mount?

Yes. Our displays use standard VESA mounting patterns. This means you can use most professional wall mounts and carts that fit the display’s size and weight.

MANAGEMENT & CONTROL

What operating system is built into the CDE Series?

It depends on the model.

  • The CDE Series displays without a “G” in the model name come with an integrated Android operating system for apps and smart features.
  • The CDE Series displays with a “G” in the model name do not have an operating system, making them a secure choice for environments that require an “OS-free” display.

Can IT manage these displays remotely?

Yes. With the exception of CDEG3 models that have an OS-free design, other CDE displays feature an Android OS and support centralized remote management. This allows IT teams to deploy updates, schedule content, monitor device health, and control settings across multiple locations.

Are CDE displays compatible with AV control systems like Q-SYS?

Yes. We designed these displays to work with the control systems you already use.

  • They are compatible with Crestron, Extron, and AMX.
  • They are also officially certified for the Q-SYS Ecosystem via a Q-SYS LIBRARY VERIFIED plugin.

APPLICATIONS & FEATURES

Are these displays good for video conferencing?

Yes—CDE displays are a great option for video conferencing. With simple USB-C connectivity, you can launch meetings quickly and keep your setup clean and efficient.

For the best overall experience, pair your CDE display with ViewSonic TeamJoin™ solutions to create a complete Microsoft Teams Rooms-ready conference room. TeamJoin makes it easy to add the key components you need—such as a compute device, touch console, and camera/audio—so you get a more consistent, professional meeting experience in any room size.

Can I share my screen wirelessly?

Yes. If you choose a CDE display with Android (like the CDE31), wireless casting is built right in.

You can share your screen from a laptop, tablet, or phone without needing cables or dongles.

For our “OS-free” models, you can add a simple casting accessory to get the same feature.

Are these touchscreens?

If you need a touchscreen for interactive collaboration and whiteboarding, check out our ViewBoard interactive displays.

Can I use these for digital signage?

Yes. CDE displays with an Android OS (AOSP) are ready for digital signage right out of the box. They come with Revel Digital preloaded, so you can start publishing and broadcasting content immediately.

Since these displays run on Android AOSP, they do not include the Google Play Store. However, supported third-party signage apps can still be deployed through approved installation methods, and they run directly on the display—so you can keep content running smoothly without needing extra external hardware.

Are these displays ADA-compliant?

Yes. When paired with a slim mount, the display’s 2.8-inch depth helps keep the total installed depth under 4 inches to meet ADA guidelines.

Are these displays bright enough for public spaces?

Yes. Our displays offer high brightness and special screen treatments that reduce glare. This ensures your message stays clear and readable even in bright public spaces.
