ViewShare™ WPD-900E Wireless Presentation System

The ViewSonic® ViewShare™ WPD-900E is a plug-and-play wireless presentation system for instant peer-to-peer sharing without Wi-Fi. It grants teachers total control by disabling open casting by default. This ensures only authorized content is displayed, effectively preventing unwanted student disruptions or screen takeovers.

Instant Plug-and-Play

You don’t need IT help to start a class. Just walk in, plug the WPD-900E into your device, and you’re presenting in seconds. There aren’t any apps to install, drivers to download, or logins to remember. It’s a fast, stress-free way to get your content on the big screen so you can focus on sharing and teaching.

No Wi-Fi or Network Needed

The WPD-900E creates a direct peer-to-peer connection with your device. This avoids slow networks and protects your data with AES 128-bit encryption. You don’t need the school Wi-Fi to share your work. It is a secure way for teachers and students to present without needing a password.

Works With Your Devices

Enjoy true BYOD freedom by bringing whatever device you use to class. Whether it’s a MacBook, Windows laptop, or tablet, we’ve got you covered. The WPD-900E supports AirPlay, Miracast, and ChromeOS mirroring natively. What's the difference between AirSync and the WPD-900 / WPD-900E?

They're both wireless screen casting solutions for the classroom but they work differently.

ViewSonic® AirSync™ is a software-based solution included on ViewSonic displays at no additional cost. It runs over your school's network and supports up to 10 devices casting at the same time. Teachers can see thumbnails of student screens, approve or reject sharing requests and even cast back to student devices with touchback control. It's built for interactive, collaborative classrooms.

ViewSonic® WPD-900 / WPD-900E Wireless Presentations Systems are hardware dongles. You plug one into your display and it creates its own peer-to-peer wireless connection. No school Wi-Fi required. Setup takes seconds and there's nothing to install. It's a great fit for quick, reliable screen sharing without relying on network infrastructure.

Not sure which is right for your school? Contact a ViewSonic education specialist to find the best fit.

Why would a teacher use screen casting in the classroom?

Screen casting makes teaching more flexible. Teachers use it to share lessons, presentations and resources directly from their device to the front-of-classroom display. No cables. No fuss.

Students can use it too. When it's time to show their work, any student can cast their screen to the display for the whole class to see and discuss. It turns a one-way lecture into a two-way conversation.

Whether you're leading a lesson or facilitating group work, screen casting helps keep everyone on the same page.

What's the difference between the WPD-900 and WPD-900E?

Both models deliver Full HD wireless screen casting with plug-and-play simplicity. The difference comes down to control.

The WPD-900 has AirPlay and Miracast enabled by default. That means devices can connect openly and flexibly, which is great for collaborative environments.

The WPD-900E ships with AirPlay and Miracast disabled by default. This gives teachers and IT administrators more control over who can cast to the display. It helps prevent unexpected or unauthorized screen takeovers in the classroom. If your district prioritizes security and predictability, the WPD-900E is the way to go.

Both models protect your data with AES 128-bit encryption during every session.

How does the WPD-900/WPD-900E compare to Airtame?

Both are popular options for classrooms, but they connect to screens differently. Airtame is designed to integrate into your school's Wi-Fi network and relies on cloud licenses for premium features like digital signage.

The ViewShare WPD-900/WPD-900E operates entirely independently of the school's Wi-Fi network. Because it connects directly from your device to the screen, there is no network setup, no mandatory software installation, and no ongoing subscription or licensing fees to manage.

Does AirSync support touch functionality?

Yes, with a few things to keep in mind.

Touchback is available on Windows and macOS only. Chrome OS, iPads and Android devices aren't supported for touch.

You'll also want to make sure you're using the AirSync Sender app, not the airsync.net website. Touch doesn't work from the browser version.

Finally, share your entire screen or extended screen. Touch won't work if you're only sharing a specific window.

What devices work with AirSync?

AirSync works across platforms, so you're not locked into one device type. Cast from Windows laptops, macOS devices, Android devices or iOS devices. Everyone in the room can connect with whatever they're already using.

What makes AirSync different from standard screen sharing tools?

AirSync does more than basic mirroring. Touchback control lets you interact with shared content right from the display. Two-way casting means you can send content and receive it. Split-screen lets you view multiple sources side by side, while moderator mode gives one person control over what gets shared and when. And with multi-display, multi-device support, it's built for group work, not just one-way presentations.

How many devices can AirSync support at once?

AirSync casts to up to 10 networked displays at the same time, with multiple users sharing content on screen together. It's built to keep a full classroom connected without slowing things down.

Can teachers control when content is visible to the class?

Yes. Teachers can pause or freeze the screen to temporarily hide updates, and start or stop sharing whenever they need to. That kind of control makes it easy to manage the flow of a lesson without losing the class's attention.

How can I manage AirSync settings across my campus?

ViewSonic Manager Advanced makes it simple. AirSync Profile Integration lets administrators build AirSync configuration into device profiles for faster, more consistent deployment across campus. Settings can also be password protected, so only approved staff can make changes.
