dvLED Displays Modernizing Sports Facilities

SOLUTION BRIEF

dvLED Displays
Modernizing Sports Facilities

Challenge

Digitalizing municipal gyms and sports complexes is essential to raising the profile of local clubs, improving communication for local authorities, and energizing the spectator experience.

However, integrators and municipalities face heavy technical and structural constraints:

  • High risk of impact: Traditional displays and LCD panels cannot withstand the impact of heavy balls (handball, basketball, futsal), leading to shattered glass or repeated pixel failures.
  • Light pollution and glare: The large glazed surfaces of gyms create significant variations in natural light, making conventional displays unreadable due to reflections.
  • Installation and maintenance complexity: Mounting a heavy display at height often requires reinforcing the building structure, and the smallest fault can put the equipment out of service if rear access is impossible.

Solution

The ViewSonic dvLED (Direct View LED) solution combines durable technology with custom-built structures designed to adapt perfectly to the demands of sports environments. It delivers a turnkey solution that removes integration complexity:

  • Built-in sports-grade durability The LED modules feature a reinforced surface treatment (GOB technology or equivalent) that absorbs the energy of ball impacts with no damage to the components.
  • Adjustable full-daylight visibility With brightness above 600 cd/m² and a native anti-glare treatment, the image stays sharp and high-contrast even when light hits the screen directly.
  • 100% front-access maintenance The LED panels are magnetically mounted on an ultra-light aluminum chassis. For maintenance, a technician can replace a module from the front in under 2 minutes using a magnetic extraction tool, without dismantling the display.
