CHALLENGE

An Oregon school district secured voter-approved bond funding to replace its aging classroom displays. Many rooms relied on legacy projectors with frustrating wiring, while other spaces used a mix of piecemeal visual tools.

Teachers couldn’t count on a consistent experience from room to room, which created extra work for IT staff. Managing the old hardware wasn’t efficient either, since technicians had to stand directly in front of each display to push basic updates.

The district needed a unified strategy to standardize hardware across classrooms, offices and common spaces. Leaders wanted a partner that could support clear digital signage in hallways and cafeterias while offering centralized remote management for hundreds of endpoints.

The district deployed:

• 461 ViewBoard^® IFP8651 (86”) and 46 IFP6551 (65”) interactive displays.

The rollout standardizes nearly every classroom on 86” ViewBoard IFP8651 interactive displays, using 65” IFP6551 units in specialty spaces. Offices and staff areas were upgraded from an originally planned 65” to 86” as well.

ViewSonic commercial displays are going into hallways, select offices and cafeterias for digital signage, replacing a mix of legacy brands and static USB setups.

The district manages the whole setup through ViewSonic Manager Advanced software, which pushes firmware updates and digital content across interactive and commercial displays from a secure, cloud-based dashboard.
