Why I Chose These Three Artworks

These three paintings are favorites of mine because each conveys a sense of flow and freedom to me:

  1. The first image, featuring a woman in a red coat with a cat in Paris (with the Eiffel Tower in the background), perfectly captures Paris’s energy and a feeling of freedom. Her hair and red coat streaming in the wind add a dynamic sense of movement. Additionally, the lighting and perspective create a sense of depth that draws the eye deeper into the painting.
  2. The young girl scattering dandelion seeds demonstrates flow in motion and light. The drifting seeds evoke childhood innocence and the boundless possibilities of imagination.
  3. The woman in Istanbul, with her hair blowing in the wind and seagulls swirling around her, embodies absolute freedom and euphoria. Cityscapes like this are among the subjects my community enjoys most.

What “FLOW” Means to Me

For me, it's a matter of getting immersed in the creative act, so that time and space more or less vanish. Although I use AI applications, it feels as if I am painting or sketching by hand. The ideas, feelings, and colours blend by themselves, more or less.

Flow isn’t just a question of seeming motion but that calm, fluid feeling a painting reaches in the viewer's eye. Soft colour gradations, eye-moving arrangements, and subtle details that cohere in harmony… To me, flow is that smooth communion between the creative and emotional processes of viewing artwork.

Tips & Tricks

The theme of flow is powerful for both visual storytelling and emotional impact. I mostly work with AI tools like Midjourney, DALL-E, or similar platforms.

  1. Before starting any piece, I always try to define the overall mood and atmosphere I want to capture. Including elements of movement is essential for creating a sense of flow, like hair blowing in the wind, fabric swirling, birds in flight, or tiny glowing particles drifting through the air.
  2. I love using pastel colour palettes because soft transitions help the viewer’s eyes move smoothly around the composition. When writing prompts for AI tools, I include phrases like “soft lighting” or “pastel colour palette.” I also like to keep the background slightly blurred and the main subject more detailed and sharp. This creates a natural focus and guides the eye along a path through the image.
  3. Light is crucial in these pieces. The streetlights in the Paris scene, the shiny reflections in the Istanbul painting, and the glowing dandelion seeds all help guide the viewer’s eye and create a feeling of movement. With AI prompts, I regularly use phrases such as “glowing particles” or “light trails” to further create that sense.
  4. Another important element is the lines in the composition. Diagonal or flowing lines add much more energy and excitement than straight, stiff lines. The movement of the red coat in Paris or the hair blowing in Istanbul are great examples.
  5. Emotion is the heart of flow. When a piece of art tells a quiet story, it feels alive and full of movement. Like the girl blowing dandelion seeds, it’s not just a physical action, but a symbol of hope and dreams.

When working with AI, keeping things simple often helps. A softer look, with fewer sharp details, gives the image room to breathe and helps create a sense of flow.

For me, flow in AI art is about mixing technique and emotion so the image feels alive. I believe everyone can find their way to create that feeling.
