Some users have reported that the myViewBoard for Windows app crashes when attempting to import DOCX files via Magic Box on certain devices. This crash is caused by a missing OS element in the Windows Operating System. Most devices do not have this issue with a freshly installed Microsoft Office 365.
Our team has implemented a preventative measure to resolve this issue in the next release. However, users with app versions prior to v.2.72.6 (including v.2.72.6) may still encounter this problem.
To avoid crashes while importing DOCX files, please follow these steps:
Convert DOCX to PDF
Before importing your DOCX file to the canvas, convert it to PDF format.
Enable Auto-save Feature
To ensure your content is saved automatically, enable the "Auto-save" feature, which saves your work every 10 minutes.
A new version of the myViewBoard for Windows app, expected to be released in September 2024, will address the crash issue. The DOCX import error will be handled to prevent the app from crashing.
