Quentin Décaillet
略歴
Quentin grew up in a family that pushed him to express his creativity, but then his interest for technology got the best of him and he pursued a career in IT for a few years. That was until he discovered photography: the best of both worlds, when art meets technology! His working background and his childhood gave him all the logical, technical, and artistic skills he needed to follow a new path as a photographer and retoucher.
While for the first few years his primary source of income and interest was weddings, when he started shooting in studio he discovered a whole new world of possibilities! He could finally combine his passion for drawing with makeup, use his creativity to come up with innovative concepts, and utilize his technical skills to shape faces with light. Many like to call what he photographs as beauty and portrait work while he refers to it as creative and natural portraiture.
Along his photography and retouching jobs, Quentin is also a staff writer for Fstoppers.com and teaches his passions in both English and French.

Capturing a picture is only one part of the process of creating a unique photograph. While having a reliable camera and sharp lenses certainly help quite a bit, it shouldn’t be the only equipment that matters. Photography is all about light and colors, thus without a monitor that can reproduce what your camera and lens have captured, you are blind. With the VP2768 I feel like someone wearing glasses for the first time: I see things on my computer like I’ve never seen them before.
The splendid edge to edge design combined with the possibility of rotating my screen allows me to retouch horizontally or vertically accordingly to the format of the image I retouch. It makes my work faster and easier than what I’ve been used to for years. Add to this the efficient SuperClear IPS Panel that makes color and light consistent across the whole 27 " and you’ve got yourself a pretty solid monitor for any visual creative.
Being on the road often, I work mostly on my laptop. Having to connect numerous dongles and hubs with my previous setup was a pain. With the VP2768 and its four USB 3.0 ports, I only have my HDMI and one USB cable to reconnect, and I’m ready to work.
