This is where colour grading plays a huge role for me. I've always wanted to teach myself the ins and outs and I am still learning how to become a better colour grader myself
everyday. But one important shift in my workflow two years ago was the usage of monitors with an accurate colour reproduction that uses the standard of the film
industry.

I knew that to stand out on YouTube I needed to start becoming a perfectionist and have huge attention to detail and quality on my films so I had to step up my setup.
I have now been using the monitors from Viewsonic for over a year so let me share my favourite features.

The Color Grading with the VP2776

The difference when it comes to display settings between editing photography and videography is huge and Colorpro let's you change the monitor settings easily according
to which activity you're doing. With the VP2776, ColorPro takes colour coverage and accuracy very seriously.
You get 100% sRGB, 100% Rec 709 and a very respectable 98% DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage, and each monitor is factory calibrated to display colour to an accuracy of
Delta-E <2.

Not only this, but ViewSonic's Uniformity Correction feature promises to balance luminance (brightness) variance to < 5% across the display area, thereby
eliminating any noticeable bright spots. An overall peak brightness of 400cd/m2 is enough to earn the VP2776 DisplayHDR 400 accreditation,
while Nano IPS LCD screen tech incorporates an additional layer of backlighting nanoparticles to increase the display's colour gamut.

I know all of this sounds very nerdy so let's talk in practical, easy terms. For me it basically means that the result you will upload is completely accurate with
the phones as they are 100% colour accurate too. No more worrying and figuring out why your colour grading might look different from when you're watching it on your phone.

Usage

The stand's base and vertical upright are both beautifully machined all-metal items, not just a basic metal structure clad in matte plastic, as you'd find with most rival monitors.

The stand isn't the only ergonomic aspect of the VP2776. Just above the stand, on the rear of the display itself, is backward-facing LED strip light which can be configured to glow white, warm white or yellow. The effect is to add a soft glowing light behind the monitor, which if positioned in front of a white wall reflects it and serves to reduce the glare coming from the screen itself when you're working in dim ambient lighting.

I personally think this helps a lot to reduce eye strain, and normally I replicate this by positioning a small desk lamp behind my own monitor. To have such lighting neatly incorporated into the monitor itself is a genuinely useful extra.

Color Wheel

Now this is really cool too. When you buy a VP2776, you don't just get a monitor. ViewSonic also includes a ColorPro Wheel. Not only can this conveniently adjust the monitor's display settings, it can also be used as a very handy clickable control dial for compatible software like Adobe Creative Suite and Capture One. And its versatility doesn't end there: the ColorPro Wheel even doubles as a colorimeter, enabling it to calibrate the monitor in much the same way as a third-party colour calibration device from DataColor or X-Rite.

Conclusion
