Get students to join

Once a class is selected, the Join Class popup opens for students to join. 

Join a class

In the Join Class popup, navigate to the Join the class section. 

Share the join link 

1. Click the  Class link icon to copy the class URL. 
2. Paste this link into chat or any platform that allows posting of links. 
3. Students will need to either:
   • Click the link, or 
   • Paste the link into the address bar of their browsers 
4. This launches the class Sign-in page.

Access via Class code 

1. Students launch the web browsers on their device.
2. They visit the shortcode URL shown on the popup. 
   Teachers can click  Full screen to make the URL easier to see. 
3. They input the class ID on the target page. 
4. This launches the class Sign-in page.

Join by QR code

1. Click the  Scan QR code instead button to show a QR code 
2. Students scan this code with their device's camera. 
3. This launches the class Sign-in page. 
    
4. To manage the QR code display:
   • Click  Full screen to show a bigger version of the QR code 
   • Click  Collapse to hide the QR code back into the Join Class popup 

Watch the bottom of the popup for real-time join status across the class.

Name matching

The Quiz Tool matches student name and responses based on the class mode selected: 

• In a One-time Class (also in Guest Mode) 
  Students type a name and pick a seat.
   
• In a Roster Class (Google SSO) 
  Students sign in with Google and are mapped to their Google identity. 
   
• In a Roster Class (by Google Classroom) 
  Students sign in with Google and are mapped to their Google Classroom identity.
