ViewSonic® Limited Warranty

(Current Production Models. U.S.A. and Canada Only)

What the warranty covers:

ViewSonic warrants its products to be free from defects in material and workmanship during the warranty period. If a product proves to be defective in material or workmanship during the warranty period, ViewSonic will, at its sole option, repair or replace the product with a similar product. Replacement Product or parts may include remanufactured or refurbished parts or components. The replacement unit will be covered by the balance of the time remaining on the customer's original limited warranty. ViewSonic provides no warranty for the third-party software included with the product or installed by the customer.

How long the warranty is effective:

  1. ViewSonic LCD computer display products carry a three (3) year limited warranty for parts, labor and LCD backlight. Optiquest products carry a limited warranty of one (1) year for parts, labor and backlight. In order to receive warranty service, proof of purchase of the ViewSonic product is required. To obtain warranty service, call ViewSonic Customer Support: 800-688-6688 in the U.S. and 866-463-4775 in Canada.

    ViewSonic LCD desktop display products are warranted with our LCD Pixel Performance Guarantee. Through this limited warranty, you are guaranteed high-quality screen performance with no more than four (4) improperly operating pixels total and no more than three (3) bright or three (3) dark pixels.
  2. ViewSonic LCD TV display products are warranted for one (1) year for parts, labor and LCD backlight.
  3. ViewSonic PC products are warranted for one (1) year for parts and labor.
  4. ViewSonic projectors are warranted for three (3) years from the date of first consumer purchase for parts and labor and one (1) year limited lamp warranty. Excluding the Cine1000 and Cine5000 home theater projectors, which have 90-day limited lamp warranty; the PJ503D, which has a 2-year parts and labor warranty; and the Pro8100 which has a 3 year limited warranty on parts and labor, 1 year or 1,000 hrs on lamp (whichever comes first) and first year free Express Exchange® service. Lamp warranty is subject to terms and conditions, verification and approval. For Express Exchange® program details, click here. Applies to manufacturer's installed lamp only. All accessory lamps purchased separately are warranted for 90 days.
  5. ViewSonic color CRT monitor products are warranted for three (3) years from the date of first consumer purchase for parts, CRT and labor, excluding ViewSonic A series CRT models including A70f+, A71f+, A90f+, and A91f+ purchased on or after April 1, 2003 that are warranted for one (1) year parts, CRT and labor, except in Canada for three (3) years. OptiQuest color CRT monitor products are warranted for one (1) year for parts, CRT and labor.
  6. ViewSonic plasma displays are warranted for one (1) year from the date of first consumer purchase for parts and labor. The warranty for plasma displays does not cover panel damage caused by static (non-moving) images displayed for extended periods of time (also referred to as image burn-in).
  7. ViewSonic networking products are warranted for one (1) year parts and labor for network enabled plasma displays (ND4200-LS, ND5000-LS).
  8. ViewSonic Commercial Display products (CD4220, CD4620) are warranted for three (3) years from the date of first consumer purchase for parts and labor.
  9. ViewSonic Wireless Monitors are warranted for one (1) year from the date of first consumer purchase for parts and labor.
  10. ViewSonic accessory products carry limited warranties. See the product page for additional detail per model.
  11. All ViewSonic refurbished "B" grade products carry a ninety (90) day limited warranty on parts and labor. All ViewSonic refurbished "C" grade products are sold "As Is" and carry a thirty (30) day DOA policy for direct buy customers only. No warranty on AS-IS C-stock for end users.

Who the warranty protects:

This warranty is valid only for the first consumer purchaser.

What the warranty does not cover:

  1. Any product on which the serial number has been defaced, modified or removed.
  2. Damage, deterioration or malfunction resulting from:
    1. Accident, misuse, neglect, fire, water, lightning, or other acts of nature, unauthorized product modification, or failure to follow instructions supplied with the product.
    2. Repair or attempted repair by anyone not authorized by ViewSonic.
    3. Damage to or loss of any programs, data or removable storage media.
    4. Software or data loss occurring during repair or replacement.
    5. Any damage of the product due to shipment.
    6. Removal or installation of the product.
    7. Causes external to the product, such as electric power fluctuations or failure.
    8. Use of supplies or parts not meeting ViewSonic's specifications.
    9. Normal wear and tear.
    10. Failure of owner to perform periodic product maintenance as stated in User Guide, such as cleaning of user-cleanable projector filters.
    11. Any other cause which does not relate to a product defect.
    12. Damage caused by static (non-moving) images displayed for lengthy periods of time (also referred to as image burn-in).
    13. Damage to, or abuse of, the coating on the surface of the display through inappropriate cleaning as described in product User Guide.
  3. Removal, installation, and set-up service charges, including wall-mounting of product.

  2. To obtain warranty service, please contact ViewSonic Customer Support for a Return Material Authorization number (RMA). You will be required to provide
    1. A copy of the dated sales slip.
    2. Your name.
    3. Your ship to address, email address and phone number.
    4. The serial number of the product.
    5. A description of the problem.
    6. For mobile and wireless products, customer should provide the user name and the password in order to access the device and perform warranty service.
  3. Bring or ship the product prepaid in the original container, with the associated accessories, to ViewSonic or any ViewSonic authorized service center. Insurance of the returning product is recommended should you experience any transportation claim from the carrier you select. For additional information or the name of the nearest ViewSonic service center, contact your ViewSonic dealer or ViewSonic.
ViewSonic is not responsible for any returned product without an assigned RMA.

Limitation of implied warranties:

THERE ARE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WHICH EXTEND BEYOND THE DESCRIPTION CONTAINED HEREIN INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

Exclusion of damages:

VIEWSONIC'S LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE COST OF REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF THE PRODUCT. VIEWSONIC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
  1. DAMAGE TO OTHER PROPERTY CAUSED BY ANY DEFECTS IN THE PRODUCT, DAMAGES BASED UPON INCONVENIENCE, LOSS OF USE OF THE PRODUCT, LOSS OF TIME, LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, LOSS OF GOODWILL, INTERFERENCE WITH BUSINESS RELATIONSHIPS, OR OTHER COMMERCIAL LOSS, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
  2. ANY OTHER DAMAGES, WHETHER INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR OTHERWISE.
  3. ANY CLAIM AGAINST THE CUSTOMER BY ANY OTHER PARTY.

Effect of local law:

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from locality to locality. Some localities do not allow limitations on implied warranties and/or do not allow the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations and exclusions may not apply to you.
