A large do-it-yourself retailer needed a mobile device that could be deployed at its stores throughout the country to keep tighter controls on inventory levels and help ensure consistent execution of merchandising planagrams.

Solution:
The retailer selected ViewSonic's V38r Enterprise
Digital Assistant as the standard mobile device for its
chain stores.
The V38r includes integrated 802.11b/g connectivity,
bar code scanner, 1.3 megapixel camera, secure digital
(SD) card slot and more.
For the retailer, a custom software application was
installed to read bar codes to capture inventory
levels. The device was further customized to include a
special application that allows the retailer to connect
photos to inventory reports.
