ViewSonic® V38r Helps National Retailer Stay in Control

Customer profile:

National retail chain looking for a mobile solution for checking inventory levels and verifying accuracy of shelf stocking.

Challenge:

A large do-it-yourself retailer needed a mobile device that could be deployed at its stores throughout the country to keep tighter controls on inventory levels and help ensure consistent execution of merchandising planagrams.

The solution required a bar code scanner for checking inventory and a camera for verifying planagram execution.

Solution:

The retailer selected ViewSonic's V38r Enterprise Digital Assistant as the standard mobile device for its chain stores.

The V38r includes integrated 802.11b/g connectivity, bar code scanner, 1.3 megapixel camera, secure digital (SD) card slot and more.

For the retailer, a custom software application was installed to read bar codes to capture inventory levels. The device was further customized to include a special application that allows the retailer to connect photos to inventory reports.

The Enterprise Digital Assistant offers maximum features and productivity for rugged mobile computing.
