VIEWSONIC MATCHES CITY OF VILLAINS' SUPER POWERS WITH VX924
World's Fastest 3ms LCD Enhances Latest Online Gaming Release
WALNUT, Calif., Oct. 31, 2005 — ViewSonic® Corp., a worldwide leader in visual display products, recently provided NCsoft-North America with the VX Series of LCDs to visually showcase its long-awaited "City of Villains™" online interactive game, created by Cryptic Studios™. The preview event for the game, held on Alcatraz Island earlier this month, teamed ViewSonic's VX924—the world's fastest 3ms LCD display—with the intense motion, rich graphics of City of Villains to bring suspenseful villain missions to life, from heists and kidnappings to infiltrations and more.
"Gamers demand the utmost in performance to push the limits of interactive play to unprecedented levels," said Dorothy Ferguson, vice president of sales and marketing for NCsoft North America. "The VX924 provides a visual centerpiece for the City of Villains with its benchmark speed and its slim design for supporting greater mobility."
"The gaming community has long awaited an LCD with performance that meets the challenges of intense graphics, color and motion in games like City of Villains," said Jeff Volpe, vice president of marketing, ViewSonic Corp. "The industry-leading technology in the VX924, with its ability to minimize ghosting and other effects, provides the ideal visual device to emphasize the latest in gaming entertainment."
City of Villains, scheduled for launch today, is the standalone sequel to the critically acclaimed City of Heroes®. Using a staggering assortment of new powers, abilities, and customization options, players can now experience sinister game play from the other side of the mask. With diabolical craft and guile, players forge new villain characters in an attempt to dominate the world. Heroes and authorities of Paragon City™ will do all in their power to thwart these evil plans of destruction. It will take a supreme effort for true domination.
The Xtreme LCD line provides average gray-to-gray (or intermediate level) response time performance of 3ms, which is up to 10 times faster than typical "fast-response" displays on the market. This dramatically lessens motion artifacts and ghosting, making them the LCD of choice for extreme gaming, viewing DVDs, watching television and traditional computer applications.
