As Bill Gates, chairman and chief software architect of Microsoft Corp., announced in his opening keynote for COMDEX Fall 2002, the first Windows Powered Smart Displays, ViewSonic's airpanelV110 and V150, will be available to consumers across the United States beginning January 8, 2003. The airpanelV110 and V150 are touch-screen LCD monitors with integrated 802.11b wireless support that allow consumers to use their Windows XP Professional-based PC desktop remotely from any room in the home, at any time.
Consumers can pre-order ViewSonic's airpanel V110 and V150 Smart Displays from Amazon.com, Buy.com, Comp USA, Fry's Electronics and RCS. In addition to being among the first to have a Smart Display in hand, customers that take advantage of the pre-order program will receive a free docking station—a value of up to $199.
