VIEWSONIC SENDS A MESSAGE WITH NEW COMMERCIAL DISPLAY OFFERINGS

VIEWSONIC SENDS A MESSAGE WITH NEW COMMERCIAL DISPLAY OFFERINGS

SEATTLE, Oct. 23, 2007 – ViewSonic® Corp. announced at EDUCAUSE 2007 that it's expanding its digital signage portfolio to help schools and businesses reach their target audiences with visual messaging. The 46-inch CD4620 commercial display features a thin bezel design and full high definition resolution to draw people's attention where it should be — on the vivid pictures and messages it showcases, not on the technology itself. Through a partnership with digital signage software solution provider Best Wave, businesses can stream content to the CD4620 seamlessly and cost effectively.

The CD4620 provides convenient, multiple display features including tiling up to five displays in either direction, RS-232 chain connectivity that lets users control multiple displays with one computer, integrated scheduling technology, image sticking protection and picture-in-picture and picture-on-picture functionality.

The Best Wave partnership enables ViewSonic to enhance remote content management capabilities. Users can create templates, upload text or video content, set scheduling options and place tailored communications on multiple displays using the external ViewSonic NMP-530's IP address. This solution makes it easy to communicate everything from lunch menus and bus schedules to homework assignments and sporting events. To meet various budgeting needs, special pricing is available when bundling the ViewSonic display, media player and Best Wave software, bringing an affordable and simple solution to corporate, retail, education and health care markets.

"The number of organizations trying to captivate an audience on-the-go is rapidly growing, making quality commercial display technology a necessity for mass communication to students, parents and facility members," said Steve Woo, vice president and general manager of VTV Business Division, ViewSonic Americas. "ViewSonic's joint venture with Best Wave allows us to provide an easy-to-use, customizable solution that won't break the bottom line."

In June, ViewSonic launched the 42-inch CD4200 commercial display. Both displays have an optional stand, speakers and multiple device connectivity ports to accommodate any venue and business need. The CD4620 touts a 1920x1080 high definition resolution, 6 millisecond response time, 1500:1 (typ) contrast ratio and 450 nits (typ) of brightness for vibrant, clear text and images in any setting. The CD4200 includes a 1200:1 (typ) contrast ratio, 500 nits (typ), 1366x768 resolution and 8 millisecond response time and comes with a standard three-year limited warranty.

The CD4620 has a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $2,999 and will be available in November, and the CD4200 has an MSRP of $1,499 and is available now. Both displays are sold through authorized ViewSonic resellers.
