	The Challenge Prior to the start of the 2010-2011 school year, Paulden Community School created a new student enrichment room—a place where students could have access to Internet-connected computers and curriculum-based programs during the school day. This space also supported teachers, who needed computer technology to perform their day-to-day teaching activities and development of lesson plans. Since the school had no IT staff and limited administrative support, the enrichment room would require a simple, user-friendly design with solutions in place to minimize downtime.
	The ViewSonic Solution With the expert guidance of local reseller, Technology Playground, Paulden Community School installed a combination of technologies including NComputing™ L300 network access devices and 28 ViewSonic® 17” VG732m LCD monitors, driven by HP ProLiant® servers, as well as Toshiba Satellite Pro® L510 laptops (for the teachers). The ViewSonic monitors proved to be the perfect choice—a feature-rich solution that delivers mixed data, audio, graphics and video content, all at an affordable price. They also offer advanced ergonomic functions, such as height adjust and swivel, as well as integrated stereo speakers for a rich, uncluttered multimedia experience. According to Jim Sexton, Executive Director, the solutions in the new enrichment room couldn’t be better. “The ViewSonic monitors are perfect—and give us a nice, large display,” he said. “We do keep the plastic covers on the displays to cut down on fingerprints and any damage to the screen faces—but the monitors have been working out great.”
	The Results “I’m really happy because the monitors are a nice size for the students,” added Sexton. “Since the ViewSonic monitors have a flat-screen design, they don’t take up too much space on the desk, which is important because we have very limited space in our 20’ by 20’ room.” Sexton is equally impressed with the ViewSonic picture quality. “The color is great and the pictures are very clear,” said Sexton.“ Our kindergarten class uses a lot of the painting software programs, and they’re able to do a lot of very creative things on those monitors. The students are already getting very good with the tools and have no problem seeing their work on the screens.” In the future, Paulden Community School hopes to incorporate a variety of additional software programs, such as Microsoft Office and tools to help students develop their keyboarding skills. The school may expand to also include high school students, which may cause Sexton to modify the current enrichment room to include online curriculum designed for older students.
